Well all banks suks. And I was always defending bank of america as the best employer. I serve as an advocate. Till now. At the branch in Chicagoland just 2 intersections far from mine, manager wanted to rid off the girl {lets call her DF} working there. There were no obvious issues in her work to my knowledge. Not knowing about any write ups. Her coworkers talked about her nicely and in the couple days I worked with her she was sweet girl. Helping customers. She had knowledge. So it seems just as a personal dislike from side of an manager. Well she was pt employee who study, which she stated in the day of her interview and again at the time of the hire. So about a month ago the market manager came took the girl in the office and told her to sign she is leaving because she can't be available hole week. So her availability is an issue. That Branch had at that time one FT employee extra, it makes 40 hours to benefit for scheduling so really there wasn't issue to schedule this girl DF for her 20 hours. She wanted transfer. {No there is no option unfortunately to transfer, she supposed to be told}. So she signed, which I told her she should not, because they can't force her. If they have an issue, they can fire her and she can claim unemployment, but since she resign "volunteer-ly" she can't. And she didn't with to leave... Well I am as well PT employee. I study. I made deal with my manager, I have off mornings and I will be there for closing branch. When I needed change the schedule, I was told NO. So I canceled classes which were taught only afternoons and I stick with our deal. I kept my word. I wasn't happy about that, but it was our deal after all so I respect that. So far I was happy worker for year no issues with my manager and her manager. I had good reviews. I had issue with one coworker but I was able to work it out in about 2 months and we are working better then fine. Not any issue or complaints about the proof work, not mistake in my work, and I did my sales. {As you all know we have to push sales to every customer, I tried to don't be pushy but elegant, so I do not rock in sales, but I do what I can, some times I am over 100 percent, sometime under, in over all score I am in average around 100 percent.} We used to be one of the best banking centers. Market team rewarded our managers and move them to bigger branches or even better branch. We got new managers. And problems started. They reorganized everything so now we don't know anymore where is what and what supposed to be done and who should do it. Then happened, our new manager, he lost some papers before BCCR came so he called me on weekend evening after 7pm to come to branch and sign some paper so we are fine on monday morning control {we knew about them comming - but it is another story.. our manager had an issue when they came in one previous days and he called off...} So I drove on weekend evening to the work and I came and I signed. We are short now of 1 employee who was scheduled for surgery. After this surgery our new manager took of another full time employee and let her lobby lead almost as the day is long. Now and then she took some customers. So there is pretty much 2 PT left to do all teller work, cover for whole week. We have manager in his office, and one half banker half teller lobbyleading. Sometimes but really sometimes someone else come to help. 1 teller behind the line. Well I notified our manager that things were set to work before, and he may want to reconsider the changes he is implementing, that this will reflect on our customer satisfaction, qst, sales and everything over all. Later another worker told the very same thing. Well our new manager did not want to listen our objective remarks. Now we are 2 months steadily between the worst branches. And now I was told that he is not going to honor my schedule anymore. He told me, I have to reconsider my future withe BOA, or transfer, or quit the school. Well I told him it was the deal, requirement from my previous manager and I respected that now in the middle of school I can't change it, and I hold my part, and I actually made him a favor I gave him an extra availibility on some of the days I had previously classes but I'm not taking them this year I can't do nothing more. He told me again he is going to schedule me for time I can't come and if I do not show up - that will have consequence for me. I told him that the deal with my previous manager even verbal is obligatory. He told me, that if I noticed, the worker xx is not anymore on the drawer and is lobbyleading. - Well he did this unnecesary change after he knew about our availabilities and surgery... he told me again he is gonna schedule me specificly for time I can't come and I have those 3 choices. THIS IS THE VERY SAME SCENARIO like with the DF girl and even her previous manager came to our banking center for this conversation. Very unusual it seemed to me. So he is pushing me now to sign I am leaving. Or quit the school. Is this legal? Does someone have the experience? And how is it if the bank of america has this pattern to rid off part timers by pushing them to sign they are leaving? Does someone knows the IL labor law? Or some specialists? In my country they say - do evil good and he will pay you back by hell. Seriously this can happened? Please if someone knows what to do, please let me know. Thank you.
