Here's one-While I was unemployed in 2009, after listening to Obama's "we want Americans to stay in their homes" speeches, I decided to call BOA to check it out. The woman stated that I qualified and would receive the application in 4-6wks, which, of course, I did not. Meanwhile, thankfully, I got a job and started back to work so then I did not need to pursue it any further. What I did not know was that by simply calling for information I was put into a "bad credit" category.
Also, they set up an escrow account to pay for my property taxes, which I had already paid. I called BOA and told them that I had never received or signed the application and to please change my account status. They said they were very sorry, no problem, they would take care of it. Meanwhile, I was locked out from making a payment on line. Next month, same thing again! Nothing had been done! Big surprise! Called them again. Again, sorry, we'll take care of it. Next month, same thing, and the month after that and the month after that. Took 5 months!
Then in June 2011 I paid online and BOA decides they are going to help themselves to another payment out of my account. Instead of one payment, they took out TWO. Oh, very sorry, bank error, we'll return the funds to your account.
But they did not. I kept calling and calling. Who in working-class America today can afford to have an extra thousand taken out of their account due to bank error?Took 14 days to get my money back! Also, I had 70.00 in insufficient funds fees which they said thet would send me a check for which I still haven't gotten.
Now they are saying that my flood insurance is inadequate and have purchased a policy for me. They have now started applying my mortgage payments to this policy and therefore are calling my account delinquent and have thus reported me to the credit bureau. How much BOA BS can one person take? I am trying to do a refi with B o A....what a bunch of jerks. With in an hour I got three different amounts of what to bring to closing ...of course going up each time.
