• In 2010, we cancelled all of our BofA accounts and withdrew a very large savings and checking balance as a result of years of ineptitude, abusive fees, bad service, denials on credit card in good standing, etc. We switched to a nice, friendly local credit union that provides all the products and services we need and pays us interest on our checking balance instead of a monthly fee on each account.

After the cancellation and switch, we received a new BofA Visa card in mail which we did not activate (these things are harder to kill than vampires). We later found that BofA reported a delinquency on our credit report because of the annual fee on the card which we had attempted to cancel.

We asked to have that bad credit mark removed given the circumstances and BofA refused. As a result of this mindless decision by BofA, we will now be refinancing our large BofA mortgage with another organization, even if it costs us more in the short term in closing costs.

Bank of America today operates on the assumption that the pool of potential customers is limitless and they make no effort to address their errors or work with existing customers, as this website points out.

I enjoy IMABOFAMGR, as his/her smug answers are worth a good laugh. When a big corporation starts to believe that their arbitrary policies do not need to seem reasonable to the average customer, they are doomed.

Howdy, Stranger!
