I am British and live in the UK, but I am a frequent visitor to the USA where I have many friends. One of those friends worked for BOA and she had to take time off work because of stress caused by her mother’s illness and also because of the very stressful nature of her job. All of this was with BOA’s knowledge and consent. But, after her mother died and after her Doctor cleared her to back to work, Bank of America told her that there was no job for her. They terminated her employment without any just cause.
I was and still am extremely upset about this, so I did some research to find out to whom complaints should be made at Bank of America. It is very unlikely that anyone there in a senior managerial position will take any notice of complaints, but I am showing the results of my research below in the hope that it may be helpful to people who have grievances with that Company.
The following are contact numbers and emails for the corporate office of employees whose job is to specifically address all complaints on behalf of the company.
If complaints are not answered or provided adequate attention, I would suggest going online and filing a complaint with the OCC, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the agency that regulates national banks http://www.occ.treas.gov/.
The corporate office MUST respond to both the consumer and the OCC. So if you are unable to get your issue resolved or feel there is questionable behaviour or handling of accounts, I would go directly to the OCC. However contacting BOA via phone or email allows you to voice your concerns directly. Better yet cc everyone on the list; calling is always a good option as well, as sometimes the issues can be resolved immediately.
