I could not believe this one. The idiots at Bank of America have a ton of nerve. I was online last night to make sure my account was stable and at around 11:45 pm i transferred an extra $5.00 out of one account and into the other. I was trying to make sure to cover a transaction from the restraraunt that said "processing."
So I figured i was in good shape. The next morning I look at the account and they had hit me with a $35.00 fee. The account had around $8.00 in it and the "processing" charge which showed as $5.00 now became $10.40 i guess because of tip.
So the account was negative around $2.50
Now with fee.... negative $37.50
They are purposely dirty in how they "process" in a hidden fashion. And everybody knows their favorite trick..... post the largest charge first and have all the others cause more fees.
One of the most depressing parts to this is how negative the people were in customer service today giving me a lecture on "insufficient funds."
Right now I am absolutely livid and want to cancel everything.
Running your account so close to the bone, and not keeping track of exactly what you're spending is a bad idea, and bound to lead to trouble, even at a credit union, but especially at an evil institution like BoA. $35 on a $2.50 mistake is obviously excessive, though.
As I mentioned in another thread, I thought they had changed the overdraft fee structure. There were discussions about it here, as a matter of fact. I could swear I remember one of the reps saying that the first fee was $10 or something. It sounds like they're back to the same business that they up to before the Credit Card Bill of Rights.
