Retrenched? There is life after BOA
  • It is indeed a sad day when you see so many people being retrenched. If you haven't walked that road, it is very difficult to comprehend the mixture of emotions that follow in the wake of being retrenched.I think the first emotion I felt, after being retrenched, was anger.Anger against my employer, anger against those fellow workers that stayed behind, and even anger towards myself. What could I have done to avoid this. Then came the depression stage; I was depressed because I had no job, no income, bills were coming in daily and the future looked bleaker as the days went by. Retrenchment can have devastating effects on families. It is a harsh reality that there is not an abundance of jobs available, the economic recession is still a daily reality, and we see rising cost of living every day.I have seen the worst case scenario, loss of income, bills piling up, savings being depleted, cars being repossessed, homes being foreclosed on and families being split apart.
Well! I am here to tell you that retrenchment need not be the end of the road for you. There are alternatives available to generate a comfortable income. When my life fell apart two years ago, just as I felt this is it, I was introduced to a retired gentleman that was making a comfortable six figure income on the internet. He took me under his wing and mentored me step by step, teaching me all he knew. Today, I am in charge of my own destiny, and never will I be subjected to the humiliation of being retrenched ever again.
I also made a commitment to always extend a helping hand to others that suffered the same fate as I did." You cannot receive with a closed fist"
My days are now filled coaching and mentoring others, don't hesitate to knock on my door.
  • Great story, I have been in the same boat as you. I finally got a break and got a part time job at Bank of America. Although this was not going to pay all the bills it was going to help out for sure. After working for the bank part time for 6 months I received a promotion, not just to full time or a lead position but actually to a team manager role. I have now been with the bank for 2 years and I'am so thankful for all that the Lord has done in my life. The bank has been the best thing that has ever happend to me career wise. There have been a few people at the bank that have been terrible and think they should have never been hired, but truthfully all of the senior managment and executives that I work with really do care about the customer. Without the customer we would not have jobs, I cant speak for anyone outside of foreclosure or bankruptcy, but we all do care about doing the right thing for our customers. We strive on accuracy when working on the documents for foreclosure, the process that goes into executing a document is very tedious and well thought out. I know if the rest of the associates are half of what they are in the foreclosure/bankruptcy departments we should be on the right path as far as our customers go. Trust me there is no robosigning going on, we take special care of each document that we work on, and were not trying to hide any errors or screw anyone out of there house. We want all of the homeowners to be able to get out of foreclosure, but sometimes there is nothing we can do about it, sometimes business is just business.
  • I was with B Of A for 12 years now with a new bank for 3 years.  My advice is to get out of B of A the first chance you get.  It is a bad company to work for and worst to bank with.
