Bank of America Sucks says it all!
  • I am very upset right now with Bank of America! I called them the other day to see if they could lower my interest rate! I have been a credit card customer for 11 years, never missing a payment! I have been laid off this past year and thought there might be some "partnership" between us, and that they may be able to help me out with my account! It's all over the Internet.... working directly with Credit Card companies to lower rates! Once the Representative looked at my payment history and found out that I was unemployed he did the unthinkable! Not only did he not lower my rate, he took the pleasure of lowering my available credit to my current balance! I have an on-line business tied to this account. He literally shut my business down! When I asked him please do not do this and what it means to me, he assured me he was helping me out! Can someone please explain to me how this is helping me out? He suggested I call back when I am back working full time! Are you kidding me? Why would I ever do business with Bank of America again? Obviously they only want customers in good times! These are not "good" times for many people! We don't have the option of being bailed out with $45 Billion in Tarp Funds like BofA was. What did they do with that money? It sure wasn't to help their customers! Only pad their pockets with nice bonuses! For those of you reading this.... maybe you can help me out! Visit my site... http://www.easyshopping4you.com! Buy something for yourself or someone else! I assure you it will be helping me and the Economy out! In the meantime... Bank of America Sucks says it all!

Because you have a crapped out credit report. Who you kidding. And that BAIL OUT crap you crap artist is getting old. Do you actually think the country's biggest bank needed bailing out, numbskull?

So since YOU KNOW about TARP tell me the reasons and conditions BofA was given $20 billion and $25 billion and tell us what BofA did with it? And tell me how much money the crap artist Obama and his admin made from BofA---how much money did the govt get? Come on, smartcrap, you know it all.

Go pay your bills and fix up your credit, jack, because one by one ALL THE BANKS are going to flush you and your kind down the toilet! Long Live BofA!
  • Well, smlrgsmth, maybe you can take solace in this bit of information. At least you don't work for them. Did you know that Bank of America takes out insurance policies on their employees? Yes, their employees are worth more to them dead than alive. Isn't it pleasant to think that the corporation bets on the mortality of their employees especially when the CSRs are so unpleasant to deal with? I like that, too, especially when I think about the BoA fanboys who come here to defend their employer with all their might.

There have been a lot of comments from people who have had their credit limits lowered. Believe it or not, this is standard banking practice, and banks have been lowering credit limits for the heck of it all over the place, but this is actually a good thing. Credit cards have actually been very bad for America.

Your credit card doesn't belong to you. My credit card from BofA or my Credit Card from Chase or Citi--they don't belong to me. They belong to the banks that are letting you use their money to buy things, or to live a particular lifestyle. When the banks or credit grantors like AMEX or DISCOVER get red flags and see spending habits change, or see cards being maxes out --or--all of a sudden ONLY minimum due payments are being made when larger payments or balance pay-offs were happening in the past, those are red flags.

You don't have to volunteer anything to anyone, what the associate on the phone did, was exactly what you described and exactly what he HAS to do to do his job. While you are on the phone he reviewed your payment history--something must have changed, and then he did exactly what he is required to do, review your credit--do a soft credit report, or pull a full report as all banks do periodically--and if there are change indicators, it can warrant taking your credit line down. That scenario would have repeated itself anywhere.

Remember it's not YOUR money, it's the bank's money and if you had loaned a friend or relative, anyone, some money and all of a sudden their payment habits changed, you too might say, "..hey, pay up and then we can give you more, in the meantime, no more..." Its a preventative measure; it's good business.

And as to the TARP, give me a break, ok? You're talking Jan of '09 and BofA paid back not only the $45 billion but another $ 6 billion on top of it, and that year made about $360 in new consumer loans, what does TARP, given to some banks to stimulate the economy, have to do with YOUR responsibility about YOUR credit? Nothing. And since Dec 3 of 2009, TARP is a non issue. It's done, paid back, and then some.
  • Yes..Bank of America sucks!
They took over my mortgage a year ago. Mortgage became adjustable, they raised my rates from 4% to 7.5, escrowed taxes and wanted a 2 month buffer at all times. My monthly payment went from $850 to $2200. They wonder why I cant afford it??
Tried to modify, re-fi nothing works. They would rather let my home of 12 yrs go into foreclosure than work with me to save it.
They sure had their hands out for the bailout money though didnt they???
  • They do suck. They did the same thing me. I paid them $14,000.00 against my bill and they lowered my credit limit to match the remaining balance. They also lowered a line of credit that I had with them as well. I never missed a payment and always paid well over the minimum due. To make matters worse, my parents sold their house and had settlement last Friday. BOA told them not to make the final payment because of the payoff statement. Good old BOA proceeded to HARASS my 70 year old mother by calling her up to 10X per day. She nicely explained they were going to settlement in a matter of days and she was told not to pay the final payment. She thought her records would be updated. Apparently, the reps do not know how to update a record, because she recd over 50 calls concerning this payment. They last called her Sunday evening at 8:30 PM and had to explain to another BOA moron that the title company made the transfer of funds the previous Friday and BOA would receive Mon/Tues. I was so pissed they were doing this to her, I tried to get the phone from my Mom and explain to this moron very explicitly to stop harassing my parents. Maybe in 4 or 5 months they will try and foreclose on the property. This is how stupid they are.

Howdy, Stranger!
