Merrill Lynch Makes all the money and still gets screwed
  • I was laid off from BOA (well Merrill Lynch) back in December 2010. I worked there for 15 years with various roles and so many Special Achievement awards to being unemployed. Morale before the "quiet layoffs" sucked before and now sucks worse. I was upset when I was given the boot but because Merrill Lynch is now BOA's ATM all the profits gets sent to the fiasco that is called Bank of America Home Loans and we got laid off (instead of those idiots in what was Countrywide that should get the boot). I'm bitter but thankfully I only have a car note as my lone debt so I can do something else, I just hope I'll have a new job before my funds run dry. For the people still there another round of layoffs are coming very soon.
  • Sorry to hear you got screwed, but I'm glad to hear BoA is suffering. I hate them so much. I would like to see them crushed into tiny pieces smaller than the baby Bells, and right behind them, I would like to see Comcast put out of business. Actually I might hate Comcast more, but I consider cable service somewhat less essential than banking.

Thanks for the moral support, Its only a matter of time that that mess that was Countrywide destroys the company and might have to be broken up. Merrill Lynch would be free again! Bank of America I hope goes down like Lehman Brothers.

I found out from an informed connect that the internal survey scores were the worst in 15 years. Nobody wants to work there anymore, just waiting for the economy to improve and bolt at the first chance. Bank of America has serious problems and should breakup into smaller companies because the mess that is now will not last.

BOA is so dead. and your solution seems to be the only way out for them
  • I'm a reporter hoping to interview laid off Bank of America employees for a story. Please let me know if you would be willing to talk.
  • I'm quite shocked to read this forum and to realize that things are so bad now with BOA and generally with the economy in US (I'm not a US citizen). Well, this crisis is global, but everything begins in America, so it scares me a little bit. I was considering moving to US, but maybe it's not a good idea right now
