Ask me questions. I will tell you the truth from the inside. I am a loan officer with Bank of America and I know first hand what is going on. I am also still employed and will be until I leave. I produce and they have no idea how much I hate them!

This place is a scam! Let me tell you what has happened in the last few weeks. While rates have dropped everywhere BofA has raised their rates about 1.0% higher than others. Today I priced a 15 year loan at 50% LTV and the rate was 4.75%. Are you kidding me? The sad part is that it is only portfolio customers calling in to refi and we are obligated to sell the rate that they offer. SAD. People are being ripped off every day but if I told someone to call around and not take the loan I would be fired. I will BLOW THE WHISTLE on this company in a second! Come try and find me BofA employees on this board, I am smarter than you! I have covered every track and I will continue to tell the evil tales of this bank. Think I am not an employee? I dare you to challenge me. I will find who you are, look in Flagscape and publish your email address and full name! Test me fools! Do you know how to do reverse track IP address searches? I DO!!!!

This bank needs to go down! They are ripping off the same people that are still loyal to them and I cannot sit by and watch anymore! This is the 2nd time I have tried to post this and I have not been published yet. This better make it or this site itself is holding back the truth and on the payroll of the monster!

And please, try and correct me grammatically or with spelling or anything else if that's all you have. I cannot wait to expose this bank for what they are! They should be dechartered and the morons that run the fullfilment centers should all be fired! There are morons behind the scenes and the public is the one who suffers. They cancel 60% of loans that come through at this point and these are people with 740 credit scores and have W-2's and paystubs. To "clean the pipe" they will just cancel loans. I have never worked for a bank that cancels loans and does not want to close loans. Most banks want business, this bank however does not!

Please ask me anything. I will be truthful in all my answers and will expose them for what they are. Ruthless crooks who prey on the people that are still loyal to them. When someone tells me they want to do the loan I want to scream at them and say, "What are you thinking? Call around and be more educated!" But can I do what is moral and correct? Absolutely not or I would be fired. So while I am still there I will tell the story of this bank from the inside like never told before!

B of A corporate culture and management style is a health hazard ! If you subject people to a stressful enviroment, they will behave and decline as such. This is counter-productive.....ding ding ding !!!! It's HR 101 for God sake ! No human being can be expected to effectively produce under these conditions long term. During my brief employment, I took notice to the overall health of those who had been there for more than 5 years. Obesity, COPD (which can be a terminal illness), high blood pressure, fibro-myalgia, bulging discs, sleep deprivation, shingles, prescription narcotic addiction and worst of all.......an extreme sense of self entitlement. One way or the other, the constant stress from unreasonable expectations for production WILL eventually kill you.

I am by no means an authority on the subject however I have worked and studied in the healthcare field and my boyfriend is a physician.

So I have more than a few issues with BofA.

First of all, my fiance was added to my account several years ago, then about one year ago he and I signed papers dropping him from my account (which I have copies of that were also signed by the bank manager). 6 mo ago he went to open a U Promise card and they did not open him a new account. INSTEAD they told him since he was previously on my account they would put him back on it with my information. He told them he wanted his own acct and that he did not have my information, nor was he going to ask me for it seeing that is not what he was wanting to do. The bank employee went ahead and put his name back on my account WITHOUT my knowledge (he was the one that told me not them) or my consent and opened up a credit card using my social and linking it to my saving/checking accounts. When I log in I cannot see the card account, but when he logs in under the info they gave him he has access to all my accounts and the card!

When I went to the bank to get this sorted out it took me 2 hours because the bank refused to change his card to another account or to give him one without him being there and then they would not let me close my other accounts with them since all three had been linked by the retarded employee.

Secondly, when I went to go close my accounts the bank manager (from a different location) met me at the door saying they were already closed. When I pointed to their door sign and showed her their internet information it showed that they were to be open for another 20 mins (I am sorry that I have a real job and I have to go during my break or on Saturday to fit with your hours). The manager told me that their branch decided to close a bit early that day, shut the door, locked it and began to walk away. I proceeded to call her some choice words, tell her that was a great example of why I am taking my business elsewhere and told her that I hoped she lost her job.

These are only the most recent 2 run ins that I have had with BofA. Throughout the years I have had many more including them refusing to up my debit card allotment for the day so I could pay to have my car taken out of the repair shop.

Thank you for being a valued Bank of America customer! My name is Seth.
Seth: Welcome to online chat session, (Name)
Seth: Please allow me a moment to go through the previous conversation.
Seth: I understand as how a fee would cause a concern.
Seth: Let me check that for you.
You: Yeah A fee is a problem anytime...but 8 fees
Seth: Would you like me to explain you the reason for the fee to be charged to your account or are you aware of it?
You: I understand we may have gone negative..a check that was supposed to have gone through thursday didn't ..most likely because of the holiday..but I'm having trouble seeing why there are eight fee's even after looking at how did this occur
You: It seems to me that BofA puts charges through in the order that generates the most fees
You: i mean it's clear
You: you put the largest amount through and then the rest generate fees
You: no matter the order the charges actually accor..
You: occur
You: because you keep them as processing for days on end
You: or is this a "feature" of having an account with BofA
Seth: During nightly processing, we process all credits before we present any debits to the account. All debits are then processed from the highest dollar amount to the lowest dollar amount, according to the transaction type, even if they create a negative balance.
Seth: Based on our experience, we believe that many customers prefer that we place priority on their largest transactions when the balance in their account cannot cover all their transactions. This may enable us to pay more important items, such as mortgage or car payments.
You: really, they prefer 8 fees as opposed to one bounced check? I don't prefer that....how do i turn this feature off
Seth: There is no option to turn off this feature as it is the standard method of processing the transactions
You: I thought Bank of America was done with this BS....it's the only reason I stuck it out with you guys. $280 dollars...I mean I already don't have the money, so you take more???
You: look I know you're not a spokesman, but really
Seth: How can i help you with this
You: I see 7 red negatives on my online balance sheet...I have 8 fees.
Seth: I will help you with the steps to view online as what caused the fee
You: already did..I'm looking at
You: can you look at the same page and explain it to me
Seth: Sure
You: statement balance and available balance why are they different
Seth: Please keep the following information in mind when reviewing your account balances.
Seth: The first balance you notice is the available balance on the Accounts Overview screen. This balance can be updated during a business day with normal electronic or branch transactions. The available balance is the same information that appears on your ATM balance inquiry receipt. Your available balance will also be displayed on the Bill Pay Center page, or on the Pay From page.
You: is a statement balance what I actually have, but my available balance it what B of A says I can use?
Seth: A running balance for each item processed and the end-of-day ledger balance is shown on Account Activity sub-tab, on the Account Details page. The ledger balance is all cash, checks and other items deposited to your account, minus all withdrawals and checks paid against the account. The ledger balance does not include any transactions outstanding that have not yet been presented to the bank. The ledger balance shown is current as of the previous business day.
Seth: Please note that the Account Details page will show both your available balance and your ledger balance. The available balance is located on the top left of the screen. The ledger balance is shown on the Account Activity sub-tab.
You: Why do I get charged fees on transactions not presented to the bank? for instance on 11/23 I see a statement balance of 352...but an avail balance of -63
Seth: Let me help you with the details
Seth: I see from the records that the available on November 22 was $1,008.79
You: sure
Seth: against which I see there were 7 transactions reflecting as processing and other 8 transactions posted to your account.
You: yup
Seth: The available balance was not enough to cover the posted transactions hence 4 fee was assessed.
You: the statement balance was..
Seth: on further review
Seth: November 23 the available balance in account was $339.92 to which I see that there were one transaction reflecting as processing and 8 other transactions
You: how do I end up with a positive ending balance after fees were triggered on the same day...??
Last text message receivedSeth: To avoid this in future you can set up overdraft protection alerts and check registers.
You: I think I have a better way of avoiding this in the future Seth...thanks for answering all my questions in such an honest and straightforward manner.

So I submitted a claim to Bank of America about an unauthorized transaction on my debit card and while they were investigating it, they never provisionally credited my account - it took them 17 days. Would that not be an issue with Regulation E? They said it was a courtesy and not required when I asked them about this. I heard this from a supervisor and a customer service rep.

I have filed with the OCC, for this and the overdraft fees associated with it. I received a credit for the overdraft fees and I received a call from a VP, but I am not able to have my cell phone at work so I did not get the voicemail until after the office was closed. I called her back and left voicemails but I have not heard back from her.

What should I do? I have emailed Brian Moynihan, but was not sure if this was a way to go about it.

I opened an account Tuesday deposit $ and get a temp debit card, I try to make a purchase decline wtf???? I call and this is what I got We closed your account there is no reason if I read under the Terms and Conditions it states that BofA can close an account at any time without notice. The rep said BofA has decided not to disclose reasons for closure. I'm a lil worried so I pulled my Credit Report to check things out and be sure nothing funky is going on and everything looks good like it should and always does. I just dont get it did I do something wrong? Should I be worried about my credit? Will I get declined at other banks? Im just frustrated that they will not give me any answers!! To top it all off they said they will mail my $ in 10 - 15 business days via cashiers check seriously your gonna be that shady and hold my money until your processing department can completely close my account that was open for 1 whole fn day! I always heard bad things about BofA my boss has business accounts, checkings, and cc with them and he always is yelling at someone on the line @ BofA cause they always f shit up for him but I had no idea, I guess I'm glad they did that cause I really dont want to do business with a company like that.

2 weeks I started the process of opening a checking account with BofA. I have excellent credit. I have been with Wachovia for over 7 years but the switch the Wells really messed up my Bill Pay and I thought I would try BofA.

So I filled out all the forms. I gave BofA my account info for my savings account. They made 2 test transactions, which i confirmed, then BofA took my $500 initial deposit.

Today I received my new debit card and another envelope telling me my account was closed. This letter gave no reason for the closure but said they may report the closure to Chex Systems and Early Warning Services and it may impact my ability to open accounts for 7 years. There was also a phone number to call with questions.

So I called and they said they are not allowed to tell me why it was closed and could not pass me onto anybody else who could. They hung up on me.

Now I am worried there is a black mark on my credit somewhere or that BofA made a mistake but they may mess up my credit. So far no help from BofA. plus they have $500 and could not say when i would get it back.

This has happened to me 2 times from the time I was 16 years old to when I was 21 years old. When I was 16 I closed my bank account with them after I wanted to go to Wachovia. A few months after I closed accounts they sent me papers saying I had like $0.03 cents in my account. I went back and they said the computer must have done it. Good excuse huh? Blame it on Y2K.

Then when I was 21 years old I had an issue where someone stole $3,200 out of my checkings account and had a shopping spree at Home Depot in New Jersey. Long story short, Home Depot and Bank of America both refunded me money after 7 days. Me being a good guy, I called Bank of America and told them about the incident. 5 minutes later I check my account and the money was taken out of my account that Bank of America refunded me. This is funny, because it took them 7 days to place my stolen money back into my account since I had protection on my Visa Debit / Bank Card. I was pissed, because how does it ethically make sense that they can take money whenever they want, but when it comes to dishing it out, it took them 7 days!

The day I called them about the refund, I went down to the local office and cancelled my account. Three months later, I get a letter in the mail stating that I had over drafted my bank account and that I owed them money. Somehow their paperwork showed that I had $20 in my savings account and $0.27 cents in my checking account. The monthly fees for checking was $25 a month, so they said I owed them $35 plus $4.73. Again, their system somehow managed to reactivate my bank account without anyone knowing about it. They refuse to accept that they did anything wrong.

Let's just say that the collection agencies won't stop calling me. I told these guys I ain't paying them a fucking dime. They can take my bailed out tax dollars and shove it up their ass.

Now I'm banking with Suncoast Federal Credit Union and I haven't had a single issue.

BOA in Jonesboro GA kept me waiting for 50 minutes before taking another 45, because no one knew the procedure, to tell me they can't cash a check with my name on it... from my mom's estate. Really? Providing a funeral bill isn't enough - having my name on it isn't enough. And the fact that it's from an insurance company, a well-known one - that's not enough! They told me that the will must now go through probate, even though everything was done perfectly, even though it was done right in the first place.
It's a good thing I'm past the initial grief. And I want ALL my money outta there TODAY!

I have had B of A credit cards for many years. For most of that time, I used them sparsely, but in the recent economic downturn I needed to use them to bridge a gap in income between projects. So I ran up over $140,000 in credit bills across five banks, about 20% of that with B of A. Through all of that, I was never late with a payment, even as interest rates were equivalent to loan sharking in such a downturned economy, and I fought hard to keep my credit rating from falling off too far even as my debt increased, resolving to pay off these accounts as soon as I was able.

That time came late last month, as new income allowed me to pay off almost all of my credit card debt at all five banks. But today I get an automated call from Bank of America asking me to hold for an associate. After a ten minute wait, I speak with a guy from the B of A credit department who informs me that my accounts are "up for review". He knows that I recently paid off the balances on my B of A credit cards and wants to get updated information. I tell him how my financial situation had improved to the point where I could repay all of my unsecured debt. After more hold time, he comes back to tell me that my B of A credit card accounts have been closed "because of the high balances on my credit card accounts as reported on their most recent report".

I explained how their information was dated, and that if they just held off for another couple of weeks, they would see that my high debt had been resolved. "Sorry, your accounts are up for review today." Surely you can make an exception under the circumstances I just explained? "Sorry, your accounts are up for review today." Can I please speak with a supervisor to ask for an exception to be made to your policy? "Please hold, I'll try to locate a supervisor." ...holding, then... "Sorry, there are no supervisors available. We can have one call you within a couple of business days." OK, then, and I assume you will delay your decision until then? "Sorry, your accounts are up for review today, and in fact, we've already closed them. "

Well, if there were no exceptions, why the hell did they call me in the first place? What would the "right" answers have been to keep those accounts open? What did they want to hear, that I would soon be paying them 23% interest again so they could turn around and pay .05% on someone's savings accounts?

So now my oldest credit card is closed with no recourse, based on old credit bureau information which they KNOW is outdated because their OWN friken credit card debt was not represented accurately in it, and they don't even give me the courtesy of speaking with a supervisor about it before they do it. You know, the more I fume about it, the more I realize it was probably a blessing in disguise. It is not the first time I have been treated like cattle by this bank, but I'm happy to say that I can see to it that it's the last. If they are going to close my credit card accounts without recourse just for paying them off, I will close my checking and savings accounts as well, and I'll advise my family and friends to do the same. And I have some fairly wealthy family and friends.

Nice going, B of A. You've turned another loyal customer into a vindictive enemy. Just what you needed as you encounter throngs of protesters outside your offices. Go ahead and shoot yourself in the other foot. I'm so over you.

BOA just shut down all my accounts. I just got 4 letters in the mail. BOA already closed my CC account (I had a zero balance, always paid it off in full every month and never late). My credit score is over 800. My checking always has 2 to 3K and my savings always had over 5K so I can avoid any fees.

I've called the phone numbers on the letter and they will not give me any information. Just that they "have the right to do so" and "it was a business decision".

Has anyone else had this problem? I've contact the consumer rating agencies like "Early Waring and "Chexsystems" and I am not it there database.

BOA won't even tell me what information they based there decision on or where they got this information from.

Very frustrating! Anyone else have this experience?

I did all the recon work and have spoken with the previous owner. He gave up the house (deed in leiu) in his bankruptcy filing in 2010, and the house has been vacant since he moved out. BOA has apparently not been down the foreclosing process on the property yet as when I call the REO department, they continue to tell me that if I have interest in the property to call the owner. Makes zero sense. BOA knows the house was turned over, they know its vacant. They have their own Field Services company 'maintain' the property. All i want to know is when they will move on foreclosing so they can sell and i can make an offer at the foreclosure auction. The house is doing nothing but dropping in value, and my wife and I are prepared to make a reasonable offer. Is there anybody in the REO department who can actually talk to me without telling me to visit the boa reo website? If the website had the info i was looking for, I would not be wasting our time by calling! Help!

I used to have a number of retirement accounts with Bank of America... not so much by choice, but because BoA gobbled-up the local banks I'd started the accounts with. After running into issues with all the fees BoA was charging me, I transfer all those accounts to my Credit Union, which in itself was an unbelievable nightmare that I posted about on this site a number of years ago. However, I had left behind a small (much smaller than when I'd opened it) Roth IRA account that I intended to eventually move.

A couple of months ago I got a call from BoA to verify my contact information. The CSR then asked me 'when' I planned to transfer that account somewhere else. I guess it was too paltry a sum for them to be bothered with, though I thought it took a lot of nerve to ask me 'when', and not 'if', I had any intention of transferring it. Anyway, that did get me motivated to transfer that account to my Credit Union. So I got the wheels moving, which included BoA sending forms that required me going to the Credit Union in person to have the forms notarized. My Credit Union was transferring the holdings 'in kind' to the same fund, so I'm really just changing the custodian of the funds.

Well, I received a letter from Columbia Management (the fund) stating in part: "...Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith Inc. has notified us that they are unable to process your request, as they are not able to locate your account."

Now, I've been receiving a monthly statement from BoA on this account for years. The account number from the statement was on the paperwork, along with a copy of the most recent statement. And the paperwork I had to process came from BoA (Merrill), and included the current account balance. But now that it's time to transfer the fund, they "are not able to locate" it. This is outrageous!
